Bodhi
A still court at the middle of the house, and rooms that keep quiet around it.
The project
Stone, planting and a seated figure under a brick screen — with terracotta and green carrying the rooms.
A still court sits at the middle of the plan — pebble, stone and planting, with a seated figure at the end of it. A brick screen above breaks the light into pieces before it reaches the floor.
Terracotta and green carry this house. They are not accents added to a white room at the end; they are the rooms. Everything else is kept pale so those two can hold.
Arched niches cut into a terracotta wall, with a low bench on either side of the window. Nothing in the room is movable, which is the point of it.
Kitchens, dining and bedrooms are drawn against that — timber, white, and one strong colour per room, so no room is competing with the court.
